Other Resources – Statewide

The Children's Resource Centers work with a number of partners across Wisconsin to help families receive the services they need. Some of our other statewide resources include:

  • Advocacy and Benefits Counseling for Health (ABC for Health) is a Wisconsin-based nonprofit public interest law firm dedicated to ensuring health care access for children and families, particularly those with special needs or who are at risk. ABC for Health’s mission is to provide health care consumers with the information, advocacy tools, legal services and expert support they need to navigate through the complex and confusing health care financing system.
  • Family Voices of Wisconsin is a statewide non-profit organization focused on supporting the voice of families in decision-making, leadership and systems change roles. FVW provides information, training and support around health care and community services to families throughout the state and supports essential partnerships between families and professionals.
  • Health Transition Wisconsin has resources to assist Wisconsin youth, families and health professionals with the transition from pediatric to adult health care.
  • Parent to Parent of Wisconsin provides parent support to parents of children with special needs through a one-to-one connection with another parent who has similar experience and who knows firsthand about the feelings and reality that comes with having a child with special needs.
  • Well Badger Resource Center is your one-stop connection to community, social, health, and government programs. You can search their online directory or call to speak to a specialist.
  • Respite Care Association of Wisconsin is for primary caregivers looking for respite care providers or respite providers looking for respite care opportunities or training in Wisconsin.
  • Wisconsin Genetics Systems Integration (GSI) Hub’s purpose is to integrate genetics with public health systems in order to support individuals with genetic disorders, their families and the professionals who work with them.
  • Impact 211 is 24/7 information and referral via phone, text or online serving Milwaukee, Waukesha, Kenosha, Racine, Ozaukee, Washington, Dodge, Jefferson, and Walworth counties.
  • The Arc Wisconsin is the state’s leading advocate for all people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. 
  • Income Maintenance Consortia is a group of county agencies that determine enrollment and ongoing case management for FoodShare, Medicaid or Caretaker Supplement benefits. 
  • Medicaid Ombuds provide assistance with appeals, complaints, billing problems etc. for Medicaid HMOs. 
  • GLITC, Inc (Great Lakes Inter-Tribal Council, Inc) offers various programs to enhance the quality of life for Native American children and their families including programs focused on health and wellness.
  • Wisconsin Wayfinder supports families of children with delays, disabilities, special health care needs, and mental health conditions.
