Young people tend to learn some of their most important lessons about emotions and relationships at home. In this lively, interactive workshop, Boston-based social and emotional learning consultant Jim Vetter will guide participants in learning and practicing effective strategies and processes that parents and other adults at home can use to help children and adolescents successfully identify and manage emotions, understand the perspectives of others, build strong relationships, and make positive, responsible decisions. Developing these social and emotional competencies has been shown to help young people lead happier lives, cope better with stress, avoid negative behaviors, develop strong social connections, show greater motivation, and even accomplish more academically.
